State is always violent in nature. It’s people’s resistance that challenges the power structure of the state and it’s anti- people policies. People’s power and their struggle for democratic rights are more powerful than state power.
The State and company sponsored violence in Dhinkia, Jagattasinghpur district of Odisha, through police brutality on the peaceful protest on 14-01-2021 is very shameful for a civilised society. Hundreds are brutally assaulted and injured. The leaders are arrested and faced torture in police custody and now jailed.
I request all my friends who fight to secure the democratic rights of citizens to condemn the illegal arrest of people’s leaders. All political parties, civil society groups, national, international organisations should raise their voice of solidarity for the poor protesting villagers of Dhinkia and against repression going on there. There should be strong demands for immediate release of 5 people’s leader including Narendra Mohanty , the National council member of AIPF, member of INSAF, Organiser of campaign against false and fabricated cases.
